In this month’s Total Installer door trends column, DoorCo’s marketing manager Ellie Pool presents a compelling product offering for the autumn/winter months

FLiP has been on the market for a couple of years now and has been adopted by many fabricators and installers across the UK as the preferred glazing cassette system for composite doors. FLiP fits doors of 44mm, 48mm, 68mm and 70mm thickness, which means it’s not restricted for use on just DoorCo doors and can fit any composite door on the market. FLiP delivers several key benefits that installers like when selling on to their retail and commercial customers.

Reliable performance

The first of FLiP’s key attributes is its Foam In Place ® technology. The foam outer seal that creates the weatherproofing of FLiP is machine applied, pre-delivery. Not only does this offer cost and time savings during fabrication making it a more cost-effective product, but also means that it doesn’t leak, which was proven during extensive testing. Doorsets containing FLiP have been tested to BS6375-2015 and in accordance to EN1027, and achieved over 1000pa through the glazing aperture during weather testing. Installers can rely on FLiP to deliver a quality performance for years to come, which is backed by our 10-year warranty.

The Foam In Place ® technology also makes FLiP fully reglazeable, with a simple click-together mechanism that requires minimal use of tools (only a screwdriver) so the option for the householder to refresh designs as time goes on, is easy.

Outstanding design

The second and most favoured benefit of FLiP is the design choices it offers. FLiP is the only door glazing cassette system available with three different profiles: Standard, which is the traditional olovo style, Flat Grained, a hybrid of a modern flat profile with a woodgrain finish, and Flat Stipple which has a smooth finish to match aluminium.

The flat profiles are perfect for creating that high-end, designer look that really deliver a statement entrance. Take DoorCo’s ultra-modern designer Monza II as a perfect example. When finished in our unique Alaskan Birch PATiNA stain, currently only available on this door for a unique finish, glazed with FLiP Flat Grained and Etched Lines glass, is effortlessly stylish and guaranteed to stand out in the street.

Looking to more everyday design, using a flat profile on a more traditional door style creates some really eclectic designs, like this DoorCo Pevero door installed by RM Property Renovations.
